On behalf of Staples Inc., I would like to take this opportunity to compliment your company on our new Staples store in Northampton, MA. This construction project was a Tenant Improvement Fit out of an existing space of 21,801 S.F. Fortunato Construction Group was contracted directly by Staples Inc. to build out our store and delivered the completed project to Staples, so that we could open prior to the Thanksgiving Holiday.
We at Staples require all our “preferred” general contractors to be proficient with our web-based program “Construction LS”. Fortunato Construction Group has made the required investments to communicate with Staples through the Internet (construction LS) whether from the actual site or your office.
This project was one of great difficulty, due to its non-prototypical building configuration, structural work, removal of two structural bearing walls, re-aligning existing roof heights throughout the space, as well as dealing with the Landlord and coordinating his work i.e.: Major façade renovations & sprinkler work. Fortunato Construction Group went to great lengths to coordinate all items and personnel that were required to build our new store.
Fortunato’s personnel worked diligently and professionally to keep the project on track and running smooth to bring it to a successful conclusion, even with the day-to-day coordination with the Landlord’s general contractor regarding his work, as well as coordination of Staples Architect / Engineers and National Account Vendors.
Project Manager (Bill Roy) / Project Supervisor (John Butera), and Vince Fortunato, are to be commended for the persistence to keep the project on schedule. The attention to quality, schedules, and budget were an asset to all involved. I look forward to our next project with your company.
